Manufacturer claim
- The AEM5 (OPS INC 12th Model) was the contracted suppressor for the MK12 SPR program and was used on a variety of MIL/LE precision rifles. It attaches to the weapon via a muzzle device and a collar that goes over the barrel for alignment; repeatability of the suppressor after being removed from the rifle with the original collar system is sought after for precision rifles.
- AEM5-series suppressors (AEM5, AEM5K, AEM5-30, AEM5-30K) share the A-Mount style, which requires 2.5″ from the muzzle to the taper for proper mounting. AE/OPS-style muzzle devices use a common M22x1 external thread while accepting different internal barrel-thread pitches (1/2x28 and 5/8x24). Brake-mounted AE suppressors require 7-10 turns for proper engagement.
- The OPS/AE brake that mounts the suppressor is machined from 300-series stainless steel and black-oxide coated.
